I loved it almost as much as I expected to. I loved finally getting to see more of Cam and Daniel, and learning more about Jake's family and childhood from the perspective of his older brother. I loved seeing Daniel grow into his own, painful as that sort of growth inevitably is.There was just one thing that really bothered me, and that was the seeming lack of resolution between Daniel and the people of St. Nacho's. Actually, there was resolution, but it just sort of seemed to magically (wave the hands, don't look behind the curtain) be there one day, and I needed to see that develop so I could really believe in it. It's a romance novel so of course it all worked out. The thing is, for me the real satisfaction in romance novels is seeing how they get there from here, and being taken along for that ride. And ZAM is usually brilliant at doing just that, so this really surprised me. Also, I'm always annoyed when couples in monogamous relationships are still using condoms at the end of the book with no explanation. What's up with that? If they're both disease-free and they're in a committed, monogamous relationship and they trust each other isn't ditching condoms the obvious thing to do? So if they don't, I need/want some sort of explanation why or it will leave me wondering if they don't actually trust each other after all.
