Meh. I really wanted to like this story. I've been reading lots (of nonfiction) about dogs lately, planning to get one (and fostering my first), so I was eager to read a romance with a dog as a key character. But this story really didn't work for me.Mainly because I thought the sister was unnecessarily psychotic and bitchy. While I'm sure women like that really exist, in this case it seemed like a plot device rather than true characterization. It felt so off, I think it knocked the whole story off-kilter for me.Also, I found Christian's mis-use of official information more creepy than charming. In fact, overall I found Christian more creepy than charming. Then, just when I was beginning to think maybe I might manage to like these characters and actually want to read about them, the book was suddenly over. Huh?
