4.5 starsI hadn't been able to concentrate enough to read a book for days, maybe even over a week, and then I read straight through this one. I couldn't put it down until I'd finished it. And then I found myself thinking about it as I was waking up the next morning.A wonderful story with amazing characters. Not only did I love them, individually and together, but their story made me feel hopeful about my own situation for the first time in a long, long time. If they could find love, maybe I can too. Maybe I can even find someone who will love the things in me I struggle with in myself. However, there were a number of consistency errors that drove me a little nuts. The story and characters were so compelling, it was easy to overlook or disregard them. Except for the fact that they kept pulling me out of the story because what was being described didn't match the mental image I'd built from a description moments earlier. For example, at the play, Liz is sitting between Nolan and Elliot, with Carter on the other side of Elliot, until she and Carter trade seats. A few moments later there's a mention of Carter looking down the row at Nolan and Liz. Since I was picturing him sitting between them, that didn't seem possible to me. I stopped, back-tracked, double-checked, and saw that yup, he was in fact sitting between them. So seeing them both by looking in one direction should have been impossible. It's a silly, trivial detail, but there were several instances like that and they frustrated me all the more for pulling me out of such a magnificent story.
