I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this after all these years. Yes, it's OTT, but in a rollicking fun sort of way. Unlike Diamond Bay, it doesn't seem to take itself too seriously. I really loved Jane, and even the moments when I found her annoyingly irrational were totally believable. After all, who isn't annoyingly irrational sometimes? Especially in the sort of circumstances she was in!I liked Grant too, and thought they were well-suited to each other. The only thing I think I really didn't like was the patronising tone at the end, between Grant and Kell, about Jane's actions. However, for as much as I disliked it, I also recognize it as typical of its time. I'd like to think we've progressed since then, and that modern romances reflect that.
