Excellent start, and I'm eager to read the rest of the series. Enough hints that things make sense when they unfold, without giving it away prematurely. Except, I'm expecting that Boone's joking "your highness" comment at the end is foreshadowing that Greg really is the son of some (evil?) superpower and potentially has the most powerful magic of them all. The series will cover the battles, strengths and powers developing, until they win the war at the end and Greg is the new High King or whatever. (Noting this here now so I can check back later to see how accurate I am).On 2nd reading (immediately following 1st) I realized there were a few questions unanswered that I'm really curious about: 1) what is the story behind Greg's tattoo (on the back of his neck?), 2)...er...forgot since last night, but a similarly small but seemingly important point
